PRESENTATION

On February 28th of 2005, the Cercle Cartofil de Catalunya (Postcard club of Catalonia) celebrated its 25th. anniversary.
It hasn't been easy to dedicate these 25 years of studies, research and promotion of postcards in our country. All of this was possible because of the tenacity of a small number of people who took this task. I would like to take the opportunity to mention that some of our founding members are still active in our group: Marcos, Joaquim and Leandre Villalonga, Francesc Gracia and Manuel Ortega, and of course a special mention to the one who was our first president, Mr Ramon Marti Cot.
This year,during our last meeting, we have elected Don Marcos Villalonga President of Honour, for his outstanding contribution and his crucial role within the club.
As always we continue to be at the service of our members and at the service of the postcard collectors who are researching various types of documents, either photographic documents, written or illustrations.

We even took the first steps to open a museum of postcards of Catalunya. Our friend and associate, Mr. Ernesto Boix, has given his entire collection of the famous Catalan photographer, Angel Toldra Viazo, better known by his acronym A.T.V., and has laid the foundation of the future museum.

We will of course help all in their quest for that rare postcard that they might be searching for, either by facilitating various exchanges between collectors, or simply by purchasing them at reasonable prices. We firmly believe that these exchanges between members contribute to the incorporation of new members in our club.

Thanks to our web page and our magazine, we are capable of keeping you informed of the various conventions or meetings that take place either in Catalunya, Spain, or the rest of Europe.

We organize many reunions, with the aim to help our members to exchange material between them. Our library is also open to members who need access to various documents, and should you wish to publish material concerning post cards, we would be happy to assist you.
